Item Description
Pair of tin framed dexterity puzzles finished in bright flashing and holding glass over recessed paper playing surfaces. Bar-Zim Toy Mfg. Co., Inc. c. 1928. Both 2.5x4x.75" deep puzzle and 3.5x4x7/8" deep puzzle featuring same image depicting ocean between zeppelin hangars in Lakehurst, NJ and Friedrichshafen, Germany. Lakehurst corners have an attached metal spear piece on grommet to serve as a mooring mast barb for "landing" the holed painted wooden pellet representing the zeppelin. Undersides are cardboard and have game instructions. Puzzle is based on the transatlantic maiden flight of German zeppelin ZR-3 from Friedrichshafen to Lakehurst in 1928. Scattered aging/wear to frame flashing and scattered paint wear to wooden zeppelin pieces. VF overall. Rare.
