This rare brass shell frame design includes cannon barrels at the bottom, a pair of stars between the oval portraits, flags to the upper left and right and at top center a depiction of the U.S. Capitol. The high contrast real photos are on a paper held on the reverse by a pair of small brass tabs. On the back of the paper is what appears to be a vintage penciled notation “1884 Blaine & Logan.” In addition the 1.5” vertical stickpin holds a vintage RWB 2” fabric ribbon. A beautiful piece and easily among the rarest of the Blaine jugate brass shell pins.
