Item Description
The first two buttons are 1.25” and the other two are 7/8”. All four have back paper by W&H with the first two being of a design used only very briefly after the Democrats nominated Bryan. The first button reads “Wm. J. Bryan/16 To 1/Free Coinage.” Around the perimeter of the back paper in black ink cursive text the original owner wrote the slogan “Equal Rights To All/Special Privileges To None.” NM displaying Mint. The second 1.25” is a “Free Silver” jugate. Back paper has tanned and reverse has ¼” cello split that makes a small bump on left side edge. There is also light tan stain around the perimeter of the button going inward as much as .25”. Still displays well and with nice gloss. Final two items are both jugates with each carrying their names and with the final one adding the slogan “16 To 1.” Three of the four are NM displaying Mint. Julie Powell Collection.
