Item Description
Unlisted in Hake, this 1.25” has W&H back paper but vast portion of the paper is devoted to text offering this button designed and copyrighted by “Sam’l Van Dersal” mailed to any address in return for “25 cts.” from a distributor in Kansas City, Mo. The steer is depicted with three white branding symbols on its side. The button also reads “Presidential Round Up Nov. 8, 1904.” The brands refer to his 1880’s North Dakota ranches. The first was Chimney Butte ranch symbolized by a Maltese cross. The second was Elkhorn ranch symbolized by a horn and triangular symbols. Surface has a few typical and tiny 1/8” faint scratches barely catching reflected light. Exc. and displays Mint.
