Item Description
First are a pair of Cox lapel studs. The celluloid donkey with his name is 5/8”. This is Hake #55. The second is unlisted in Hake and consists of a six-sided lapel stud picturing Cox with his name to the left and right “James M. Cox.” Reverse has threaded brass cap. Next are a pair of Harding coattail buttons. The smaller is Hake #35 with back paper by Pilgrim Specialty. Reverse has .5” cello split but cello lays tight against the collet. Front displays Mint and names “Harding And Coolidge/Cox For Governor.” The “Cox” referred to on this button is the 1920 Massachusetts governor candidate Channing H. Cox. Next is 7/8” Hake #54 naming “Harding/Stanfield/Coolidge.” This is an Oregon issue. Last is a very unusual uniface embossed brass jugate. 13/16” unlisted in Hake. This thin circle of embossed brass has their jugate portraits at the center with text “Calvin Coolidge For President/Chas. G. Dawes For Vice-President.” Most likely this was attached to some other object but we’ve not seen the piece before. NM luster. Julie Powell Collection.
