Item Description
Original illustrated cardboard box contains 7.5" long by 6.5" tall tin litho toy w/built-in key. Marx, ©1938 McCarthy Inc. Box is complete w/all flaps, one end flap has 2.25" tear. Another end flap has repaired tab w/cardboard reinforcement added to interior. Box has scattered creases on front panel and along side panel. Small punctures on top/bottom side panels and main front panel. Fine overall and still nice for display. Toy depicts Charlie McCarthy as the driver and his name appears on grille and trunk. Toy works well and travels around in an erratic fashion as his head turns and car rears up every so often. Toy has scattered trace of tiny paint nicks/scratches and some factory paint touch-up to windshield frame, but still bright and glossy. VF/Exc. example of this classic Marx wind-up.
