Item Description
Beemer was an American radio actor and announcer at Detroit radio station WXYZ, becoming "The Lone Ranger" announcer soon after its first broadcast in 1933 and also appeared in costume as The Lone Ranger in public as station owner George Trendle felt that Earle Graser didn't look the part. Beemer was the voice of The Lone Ranger from 1941 to the last episode in Sept. 1954. Lot includes two hardcover books measuring around 5.5x8". "The Wandering Vagabond's Book Of Collective Poems" by Beemer was published by Detroit Publishing Co., ©1933. Inside front cover has two personal library stamps and inked owner's name. First inside page has been inscribed "Aug. 1933 - If You Like This Collection And Gain A Moment's Pleasure - I Am Happy. Sincerely Brace Beemer" in blue ink. Book has some scattered handling/aging. Missing tipped-in page 6 but is o/w VF overall. "Whistle Stop" by Maritta M. Wolfe was published by Random House, ©1941 and comes w/"The Beemer's" personal library bookplate inside front cover, which has also been signed by Beemer in blue ink. Book has scattered aging/wear w/some aging/moisture spots inside front cover, not affecting Beemer's signature. Fine overall. A unique pair. Comes with Hake's COA.
