Item Description
Striking 7/8” button with W&H paper used only 1896-98. Front is designed as a target in gold with solid black text that reads “M.W. & Co. Hand Load.” Various gun powder companies would sell components to Montgomery Ward who would then assemble (hand load) them and sell them under their trade name. The only example we’ve seen. Essentially Mint and probably the first use of a gold foil paper on a pin-back.
