Item Description
2.25" button has pair of tiny 1/16" and 1/8" specks of celluloid off by the reverse collet but the celluloid still lays extremely flat and does not create a distracting bump on the side edge when viewed from the front. Collet holds 4.5" ribbon "Central Democratic Club/Harrisburg, Pa." The front of this button is exceptionally clean. There is a 5/16" curved hairline on Barkley's forehead which is very minor and just catches reflected light. The tiny black mark between their photos is part of the donkey's back and not a flaw. The piece, other than the mentioned mark, has only the most minor and tiny traces of surface wear. The few of these we've seen before had much more serious splits and/or stain problems. This is the best example we have seen in five decades. A rare local issue of a scarce jugate. Julie Powell Collection.
