Item Description
Largest is 3.5"/smallest 1.25". Included are three with slogan "Don't Let This Happen To You Vote For Ike" with graphic of a shoe with hole in the bottom. These reference a photograph taken during a Stevenson campaign rally that revealed one of his soles to have a hole in it. The moment became a rallying cry for both sides and won the 1953 Pulitzer Prize for photography. Row 1 #1 and Row 2 #1 are both litho buttons with several tiny dots of missing paint. VF. Also included in this lot are: "Washington For Ike" button from state set, "If We Ever Needed Ike We Need Him Now" with musical notes (faint light brown staining in background), and "I'm An Ike Block Buster". All are Exc. unless noted. Don & Mildred Wright Collection.
