Original cardboard box contains two-piece painted pressed steel free-wheeling set w/hollow vinyl wheels. Truck is 14.5" long and trailer is 9" long by 10.25" tall. c. 1957. Box notes set as No. 5638 and has "GMC Signal Corps Unit With Remote Control Electronic Loudspeaker" text w/Buddy L "America's Finest Steel Playthings" logo. Box has moisture staining at one end w/oxidation to staples and some scattered small age spots. Missing two inner flaps. VG/Fine. This truck was issued in other Army formats w/a canvas cover over bed, this version was issued w/o. Truck has plastic grille and raised "GMC" hood ornament. Cab doors both have "Buddy 'L' - Loud Electronic Speaker Unit" text w/lightning bolt designs. Decals are both complete and truck shows just the lightest wear. Trailer has attached hard plastic loud speaker unit and small separate microphone. This is battery-operated and although battery box remains clean, we could not get speaker to function.
