Item Description
Original illustrated cardboard box contains painted 5.5" long tin airplane w/6.75" wide wingspan. Attached to 4.5" round bracket w/nut/bolt at back. Jaymar Specialty Co., c. late 1920s as plane is styled like Lindbergh's "Spirit Of St. Louis" but no identification as such. Box shows heavy and obvious wear w/one top flap and both inner flaps off (but included). Bottom of box is missing one end flap and both inner flaps. Top front has 1.5x5" piece torn out. Good and would benefit from restoration. Box is rare. Plane's silver luster propeller moves when attached to car's radiator cap, spinning as the car moved. Holes in the wings and sides allow for display of all five included 11" tall fabric American flags on wooden rods. Much silver luster remains on underside of plane and on propeller as well as the attaching bracket. Exc. Only the second example we've seen in our 48 years.
