Item Description
Large 17.5" long w/22.75" wide wingspan painted solid die-cast metal airplane and display stand w/total height of 10.5" tall. 1940s. Model is L-049 w/"TWA" and "NC 86505" wing decals. Sides have additional "TWA - Trans World Airlines" name and window decals. Tailfins have decal stripes. Four engines each have cast metal propeller that spins. Engines and wing edges have small scattered paint chips and wing decals have some flaking, about 95% remains. Tailfin decals show wear, about 90% remains. Nose shows wear w/.5" area of flaking below cockpit window decals. Plane body decals are mostly complete and have some stabilized stresslines. Fine. Base has "Property Of TWA -Trans World Airlines" decal though most of "Airlines" text is missing due to moderate decal flaking. VG/Fine. Rare 1940s airline display.
