Item Description
7/8". Likely issued after August 1919 when the National Executive Committee of the Socialist Party met. Part of this meeting included appointment of individuals who on September of that year issued the party's demands for amnesty for class war prisoners. In April of that year Eugene V. Debs, having been convicted earlier in 1918, began his ten year prison sentence. He provided a statement to the Committee that met in August saying in part "Let Us Not Be Timid Or Pattern Ourselves After The Capitalist Politicians In Strong And Simple Words Our Message Will Be Gospel To Millions Of Hearts". Button retains original "Williamson Stamp Co." backpaper and full gloss. NM displaying Mint.
