Auction #216 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 977 in auction 216
Item Description
Sizes are 7/8” to 1.75”. In the early 1900s button makers quickly figured out how to take an individual’s photo and create a pin-back button from it. Advertisements for this service were run in magazines and newspapers and it was a very popular thing to do. This group includes men, women and children. 23 of the 39 pieces are encased in a tabbed on brass frame, many with enamel accents. Bottom row with floral rims include an apparent man and wife in matching frames. Only a couple with a little damage including Row 1#1 with tiny crack and small age at bottom and Row 2 the lady in extravagant hat with much of the celluloid stained. Rest are Exc. to Mint.
