Item Description
Buttons are 7/8” to 1.5”. Group begins with Columbus from early 1900s. Next is brass lapel stud of “Mac Mahon” who served as second president of the Third Republic from France 1875-1879 the era this item is from. Next is heavy brass piece with a lapel stud hinged on the back and picturing on the front “Robespierre 1759-1794.” This piece is hard to date but seems to be from the earlier years of the 1900s. Next is button picturing Hidalgo leader of Mexican War Of Independence. Small 1/8” split on reverse. Next is silvered stickpin picturing Friedrich August III the ruler of the German state of Saxony. Row 2 starts with early brass and enamel lapel stud “Washington State Banker’s Ass’n.” This is followed by a button for his 1932 bicentennial and another from the Revolutionary War titled “Surrender Of Cornwallis/Yorktown, Va.” Next from 1897 is Grant Monument Dedication button. Tiny trace of age. Last from 1916 we believe relates to the founding of the Evangelical Reform church. We do not know the identities of the people in the bottom row but they include a tin type, real photo man in golfer style hat, real photo man in pith helmet, man in military uniform and a real photo lapel stud of military man. All are Exc. to Mint except as noted
