Item Description
Group includes three pieces dated dated 1961, 1962 and 1963. All are quadgates. Buttons are 1-3/8" litho with blue-tone photos. First has images of Lincoln, Frederick Douglass, Carter Woodson (father of black history and group founder) and Harriet Tubman. Text reads "1961 Proud American/Freedom/Knowledge" with initials below standing for group name Association For The Study Of Negro Life And History. Second pictures Robert Smalls (African American Civil War leader and reconstruction era congressman from South Carolina), Lincoln, Douglass and Woodson. Third is unused tab picturing John Brown, Douglass, Lincoln and Woodson. All three have scattered light surface wear and tiny missing dots of paint consistent with light use. Fine to VF.
