1-5/8" litho button with 6.5" attached ribbon. Citizens Councils' started around 1954 and by 1956 they had nearly 60,000 members across the country concentrated mostly in the South. The main goal of this white supremacist organization was to oppose the integration of schools. Button has paint wear including hairline scratches and tiny missing dots of paint scattered over it's surface consistent with light use and retains over 98% of it's original paint. Ribbon has a tiny hole just left of the first "I" in "Official". Overall both remain VF. Rare and first we've offered in five decades.
