Item Description
8.5x11" letter handwritten in black ink on "C.C. Beck" letterhead is dated July 12 (letter mentions Jimmy Carter's presidency, thus dating letter). Letter is addressed to Jerry, w/legendary Captain Marvel artist commenting on commissioned cover recreation of "Champion Comics" #8, a Jack Kirby cover from June, 1940. Letter reads in part - "Concerning The Enclosed Cover, My Opinion Is YECCHH!! Jack Kirby Is A Fine Fellow But He Has Ruined More Comics Than Anyone Else." One word has been crossed out and corrected by Beck, but o/w letter is Exc. Comes w/photocopy of cover mentioned within letter. A unique Beck piece w/great content.
