Item Description
The Motor Transport Corps was authorized September 1918 with insignia consisting of a spoked wheel with Mercury’s winged hat superimposed at the center. The group was disbanded June, 1920. This ring is marked “Sterling” on the underside but the owner has had it plated in lustrous 18K gold. At the base of the bands is a single hairline where the ring was cut to make it a size 6. The cut is a hairline and if pressure is applied to the bands it can be separated slightly but otherwise the bands abut smoothly. Sides each feature a spread wing eagle accented by stars. Only example we’ve seen and displaying Mint.
