Item numbers 946 through 2530 in auction 185
Item Description
4.25x5x12.5" box. Creases overall. Corners remain sturdy with one old repair. Marked "Line Mar Toys/Japan." Box displays VG. Box contains 12" tall lithographed tin figure toy on 3x3.25" base. Base is compartment for two "D" batteries and on/off switch is on front panel. Mouth opens manually for adding small amount of bubble soap liquid in miniature reservoir. A tiny metal blow ring then dips into the reservoir. Battery action lights red bulb inserted into the bowl of his pipe and arms move alternately to raise and lower the pipe while lowering and raising the spinach can held in opposite arm. All mechanical functions operate, but hose from inside mouth is missing so no air is blown. 1950s. Toy was used and the liquid soap changed some areas of fleshtone paint to a more pale, creamy white. Some of this is on the face plus most of the outer surface of his right arm. Still these areas are largely very clean and glossy. Few scattered paint nicks. Small factory touch-up on lower lip. Toy remains glossy and VF.
