Auction #186 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 896 in auction 186
Item Description
1 5/16” (34mm) brass button with top slogan “Long Live The President” above center oval displaying large “GW” initials. This design is cataloged in Albert’s book as WI 11 A. Exceptionally clean surface with very bold lettering, just the tiniest surface scuffing above the initials that shows only a trifle in reflected light. The original reverse shank was likely reattached but done long ago and very professionally with newer solder hardly distinguishable from the original. Overall an extremely fine example of scarce and very sought after design that features his initials boldly at center.
