Auction #186 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 896 in auction 186
Item Description
7/8” X 1” with beautiful Mint luster on the brass case. Original bar pin on reverse has small bend but causes no problem. Listed as Sullivan WHH 1840-85. This is one of the scarcer designs and does not include image of a tree nor that of a flag pole. Rather image depicts log cabin viewed from the front end with chimney on rear of roof and at left large image of a cider barrel with mug perched on top. Around the rear edges of the roof, a few tiny dots on the black back ground catch reflected light, but there is no actual loss of color. The only actual color loss on the entire piece is a single pin-point dot of white off the roof near the upper edge. A gorgeous N. Mint example with perfectly sharp corners on the tips of the beveled glass insert. Rarely found this clean and with this much luster.
