Item Description
Along with "Crusader Rabbit," Telecomics was the first animated series expressly made for television, running from 1949-51. These cartoons were not really animated but showed still pictures with voice-overs. This lot consists of 10 india ink and watercolor pieces, each is on 10x11.5" stiff art paper and comes with matching layout sheets done in pencil. Each feature Rick Rack, most with his sidekick. Rick was a Dick Tracy/Jim Hardy inspired character. Dick Moores, noted for his art on the Jim Hardy comic strip was the designer and co-producer of the Telecomics series. He was also an assistant to Chester Gould on Dick Tracy. All pieces have scattered margin wear/aging, mostly to the layout sheets. Paintings remain VF/Exc. overall. Nice lot for this little known TV series.
