Item Description
15" long tin litho by Shioji, Japan. 1960s. The open-wheel style racer is marked "Indianapolis 500/8" along with sponsor logos. Has a built-in jack mechanism to change the tires. Passenger side has metal rod that once had a brake-style lever that turned to raise 4 metal rods on underside that serve as jack stands. This function works but needs lever added to work as intended. Has all 4 removable wheel lugs. One of the two black accent lines on hood has a .25" x 2" paint touch-up which blends. Body has additional scattered small paint nicks and scratches mostly on the raised top back center area. The chromed metal parts show scattered trace of aging but most luster remains. The plastic windshield has some tiny nicks along top edge but no cracks. Appearance remains bright and glossy, overall Fine. Friction works. Impressive large racer.
