Item Description
Pair in apparent original frames 17x21" with top text lines on both reading "Theodore Roosevelt, President Of The United States Of America To All To Whom These Presence Shall Come, Greeting:" Both appointments are for William H. Gibson. The August 28, 1908 appointment as "Deputy Assistant Treasurer Of The United States" without eagle image has faded but distinct 5" long signature "Theodore Roosevelt." A few minor margin smudges but overall VF and with treasury paper seal. The January 15, 1909 example of totally different design with eagle at top has 6.25" long faded distinct signature "Theodore Roosevelt." This one is appointment for same position and more tanned with minor dust and scattered but small stain marks. Treasury seal missing a bit but 90% complete. Unique pair. Comes with Hake's COA.
