Mostly tin litho although with plastic front and rear pieces and canopy over astronaut figure. This toy was first produced in 1964 by T.P.S. although this is the early 1970s made in Taiwan version by Day-Fran. However, both box and toy are identical. Box is Exc. Toy depicts futuristic space train. Astronaut is seated behind elaborate computer equipment. On sides are simulated windows with images of children and animals in spacesuits including dogs and a monkey. Toy travels around with non-stop action as it produces a loud "space noise." Front plastic section rotates and flashes red/green, back section with tail fins also rotates. Has some minute scattered paint nicks but as produced. NM.
