Item Description
10x12" tin litho base with 7x4x4" tall litho building with plastic accessories. 1950s. Box has heavy wear including creasing, tears along top edge, reinforced end flaps. Good. Toy itself is nicely illustrated with overhead views of launching site on base including rockets, tankers, workers, etc. Building which houses crank mechanism and launching rod is also marked "Space Satellite Launching Station." There is stationary radar screen attached to metal rod that fits alongside this building. Missile launching area consists of plastic base with rocket. This is meant to be launched by twisting rocket out of interlocking base. Spring has slipped a bit inside this mechanism so this function no longer works. Main function of toy is large crank which revolves launching shaft on top of plastic pedestal. Works, has pair of saucers. Some scattered paint nicks and scratches, wear on top of building. Fine.
