Item Description
1-5/8" wide by 3-1/8" long by 7/8" deep with lid hinged along left edge. Beautifully crafted of horn with thin veneer of ivory on top surrounding steel engraving paper portrait under glass recessed in lid encompassed by raised oval brass rim. Ivory has pair of noticeable hairlines above and below, plus smaller hairline at top (.5") and tiny hairline at right center (3/16"). Blank underside has very minor shallow scratches .25" wide by .75" long. A rare snuff box and one of very few three dimensional objects to depict our 6th president. Fine.
