Item Description
15x19". Unlisted in Threads of History but that reference does show a larger banner with these same 3 men named. Top slogan reads "Hurra! Hurra! We Think With Reason/That This Will Be A Great "Coon" Season." Text on ball reads "Make Way For The Coons." Names below read "Henry Clay./Theo. Frelinghuysen./Gen. Jos. Markle." Surface has remnants of tiny threads (removable if desired) that once held bandanna as part of a quilt. Row of small 1/16" to 1/8" holes on left margin. Five vertical splits across top about 1" each. Four more of same size and one at 2" scattered on lower half of the fabric. Image and text faded but all details and text are easily seen and readable. A few small stains. Overall good and possibly the only surviving example.
