Item Description
1-9/16" oval with large bw photo against bright red. Depicts him at table with "WNAC" microphone before him. White text at upper left "Fred Hoey Day June 20, 1931." On lower right in his facsimile handwriting is inscription "Hello Everybody - This Is Fred Hoey Speaking." Hoey began broadcasting Boston home games over the Yankee Radio Network in 1926. He broadcast all home games until his death in 1932. Fans attending this 1931 Fenway Park special day received this button and it is only the second example we've seen. W&H backpaper. Exc.
