9.25x15.75x1.75" deep box contains parts for smaller of two Flash Gordon casting sets by Home Foundry Mfg. Co. Inc. ©1934 KFS Inc. Lid art includes comic strip reprint panels by creator Alex Raymond. Box has insert to hold the various pieces in place. Has some surface paper wear and tears at die-cut areas to hold tools. VG. Box bottom has corner tip wear but all corners remain tight. Lid has four corner splits, two having tape repairs. Box has moderate edge wear with surface paper missing along most of edges. Top panel has dust soiling/aging with some light crease marks as well as grease pencil. One side panel split has tape repair. VG. Set includes electric upright casting ladle with base, pair of wooden handles, bottle of paint and paint brush. Also has two-piece mold used to cast 2.5" tall figures of Flash on horse, Vilma and patrolman. Set also comes with cast figure of Flash on horse which has partially painted. Set is missing only the four "pigs of casting metal" and original vice. Flash sets are pictured and described in the accompanying 4.5x7.75", 32-page instruction book/catalogue. Booklet also shows two different Mickey Mouse sets plus many other boxed sets and additional molds. Book has obvious and heavy wear. Good/VG. Also comes with smaller instruction booklet which has been folded as issued. Contents show general wear from use but no serious defects and molds are Exc.
