8x13.5" mask issued by Chicago Sun newspaper c. 1942. Front of mask is signature hat and mask of The Spirit. Ear flaps which resemble arms of glasses are missing. Reverse reads "Compliments Of 'The Spirit' The Chicago Sun's Famous Comic Strip Character. Follow His Thrilling Escapades Every Week Day On The Sun's Comic Page And Every Sunday In A Big Sixteen-Page Color Comic Book." Obvious creasing to hat brim with a .5" tear at hat band. VG.
