Item Description
11.25x13.5" Whitman coloring book No. 1005, a 1974 reprint of the 1966 coloring book. Inside front cover has inked sample stamp and date in pen indicating it as a Whitman file copy. Cover shows wear. Pages remain unused and lightly aged. Fine/VF overall. Coloring book comes w/12x15" art board with paste-up comic panels and original detailed painted image of Superman that is cut out and overlayed on painted background. One panel stat is missing on right. Clear acetate sheet w/paste-up of book's front cover text design is from the 1966 version. Has detached onionskin sheet w/various production color and stripping notes. Onionskin sheet shows obvious wear and is VG. Art board shows lt. aging/handling wear but painted area remains clean and would frame w/film sheet for an Exc. display. Same artwork is repeated on reverse minus the type. Desirable original painted artwork and later produced file copy book. Unique. Franco Toscanini Collection.
