Item Description
Gehrig played 17 seasons for the New York Yankees earning the nickname "The Iron Horse." Suffering from symptoms of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis Gehrig said goodbye to baseball in a heartbreaking speech at Yankee stadium in 1939, calling himself the "Luckiest Man On The Face Of This Earth." This button was produced two years later when he died. Complete with original ribbon and chain holding plastic bat and ball charms. Cello surface has tiny raised bump noticeable to the touch caused by the stamp of the union bug on the metal back. NM displaying Mint.
