Item Description
Lot of three, each 2.25x3.5" from set issued in 1949 by Comic Stars Inc. that featured a wide variety of comic characters. There were two different cards featuring Superman (as well as one for "Robin Batman's Partner" and these are ©NCP Inc. Included here are two versions of the "Superman And Lois Lane Card" both ©1949 but w/white and yellow bkgs. The third card is Superman flying and this is variant w/1950© and first we've seen like this. We have seen these cards issued both in cello packs and cardboard sleeves. There are also rare variants issued w/imprints on the o/w blank reverse and used as premiums. The "Superman" card in this lot has printed text on back "From The 16-Page Color Comic Section Every Sunday In The New York Mirror" also first we've seen of this in our 49 years. Lt. wear/aging, more on the yellow bkg. card which is EX, other two are EX/NM. Franco Toscanini Collection.
