Item Description
Original cardboard box w/label on one end contains 18" tall jointed five-piece composition doll, featuring Shirley in original lt. pink organdy dress w/attached collar, complete w/as issued white stockings and oilcloth shoes w/metal buckle/snaps as well as plain petticoat under dress. Dress has original ribbons (2) attached as made. Original blonde mohair ringlet wig in place and in immaculate condition. Green sleep eyes work, though eyes have aged a bit. Painted lower eyelashes. Open mouth w/upper teeth. Complete w/"The World's Darling - Genuine Shirley Temple Doll" 1-3/8" dia. pinback button attached to front of dress. c. 1938. Doll has minor condition issues that include lt. spotting/aging to arms and small spot of discoloration on collar ribbon. Despite these minor issues, both doll and button are Exc. Box shows moderate wear w/numerous tears/creases. 4.25" tear w/glue repair to end panel w/label. Lid also has glue repairs to 1-3/8" edge tear and 8" edge split. VG.
