Item Description
Pair of approx. 12" tall jointed cardboard figures depict Hans (holding apple) and Fritz (holding ice cream cone). Unmarked but 1920s. Hole at top center of each head added w/string loop w/additional string at bottom that is connected to string from arms/legs. When bottom string is pulled, arms/legs move. Moderate even aging w/some scattered lt. moisture staining to Hans' shirt. Fine overall. Comes w/four premium mechanical postcards, three of which feature Katzenjammer characters. One is unassembled, measuring 5-3/8x8" w/small sliver off one corner tip and tape at another. Scattered aging/dust soiling. Fine. Other two cards have been assembled. One features nice mechanical action while other features static scene. All are marked on reverses "Compliments Of" and mention either Hearst's Boston Sunday American or N.Y. Sunday American & Journal. Comes w/"Happy Hooligan's Thanksgiving Turkey" mechanical postcard, ©1906 American Journal Examiner. Back notes "Compliments Of Hearst Boston Sunday American." All are unused but show scattered moderate aging/wear. Fine overall.
