Item Description
9x12" magazine w/glossy covers and 103 pages. Formerly "Electrical Experimenter," magazine was published by Experimenter Publishing Company, Inc. Aug. 1923. Widely considered to be the first science-fiction magazine, cover features great image of early astronaut in space by Howard V. Brown. Cover also notes "$10,000.00 Spiritism Challenge." Much of the content consists of articles on science and technology, this issue was touted as a "Scientific Fiction" issue w/fiction by Hugo Grensback, Ray Cummings and others. Notable stories include "The Man From The Atom" by G. Peyton Wertenbaker and Grensback's "The Electric Duel." Covers show some scattered aging and handling wear, which is more pronounced at top/bottom of spine. Bottom right corner of front cover has sliver off. Fine overall w/evenly aged, VF contents. Historic and scarce. A must have for science-fiction literary fans.
