Item Description
45x53". Two sided with each featuring the Army Corps of Engineers logo at center. One side has a multitude of signatures and inscriptions. The messages are almost all anti-war and counter culture in tone. At top one reads "As I Slide Down The Banister Of Life I Shall Always Remember Vietnam As A Splinter In My Ass." Many signers have included drawings. Included are: a swastika, peace signs, Zig Zag man and more. Edge wear and loss of stitching on fly end that extends about 7" along top and bottom edges. Some inscriptions have ink runs and there are scattered moisture stains. A 4" tear at top left and a 2x2" right angle tear at bottom right. Otherwise only minor tears and handling wear. Good/VG. A historic textile that offers a unique personal look at the state mind of soldiers in Vietnam in the late 1960's and early 1970's. See additional detailed photos online.
