Item Description
2.5x4" folder w/thin cardboard cover reading "The Cavern Club - Membership Card - 1963 Season - Ending 31st December, 1963." Printed by The Merseyside Printing Co. Inside front cover has club member number "No. 3493" and inked name/address and May 17, 1963 date. First page deals w/club rules involving personal belongings w/two following pages being unused and reserved for "Official Use Only" and notes. Centerfold has 1963 calendar w/Jan. through April inked out and additional inking on month of May. Last page and inside back cover has map to "Show Your Friends How To Get To The Cavern!" This is an original club membership card (which were later reproduced). The Cavern Club is where it all started, a music club in a warehouse cellar at 10 Mathew Street in Liverpool, England where The Beatles performed 292 times from 1961 to 1963. As noted on back, this card was required for admittance unless attending as a visitor. That being said, it's highly possible this card was in attendance at one of The Beatles' last performances at the club from May to Aug. of 1963. Scattered handling wear w/some moisture staining along spine. Pages have even aging and calendar page shows wear from use. Fine overall. Wonderfully historic piece of Beatles memorabilia.
