Item Description
1" with W&H back paper c. 1910 or few years earlier. Text at top reads: "25 CTS FOR 100 LBS./George R. Lunn & Associates". Lunn was a pastor and an advocate for worker's rights and in 1910 was elected Mayor of Schenectady as a Socialist making him the first Socialist mayor in the state. Button pictures tongs holding ice block, in the traditional red/white Socialist colors, with text "We Use Citizen's Co-Operative Ice At Cost/Do You?/Guaranteed H2O". Dark age on 75% of outer edge blends well. Rare.
