Item Description
The Synanon organization, initially a drug rehabilitation program, was founded by Charles E. Dederich, Sr., in 1958 in Santa Monica, CA. By the early 1960s, Synanon had also become an alternative community, attracting people w/its emphasis on living a self-examined life, as aided by group truth-telling sessions that came to be known as the "Synanon Game." Offered here is a 14x22" window card for the June 25, 1967 benefit concert that took place at the Village Theatre in New York City featuring Count Basie & His Orchestra, Arthur Prysock, the Stan Getz Quintet and the Lee Konitz & Marshall Brown Quintet.
