Item Description
11x16.5" thin artboard features artist Jose Delbo's pen and ink original art for first page of the Feb. 1987 issue of "Thundercats" #8, published by Marvel Comics "Star Comics" imprint. Delbo began his American comics career in the 1960s, working on "Supergirl, Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen" and "Wonder Woman" as well as working on "Transformers." Splash page features Lion-O partaking in some Thunderian sports, tossing a heavy ball on a strap as Panthro winds up for his turn. Snarf, Tygra, Cheetara, Wilykit and Wilykat can be seen in bkg. along w/stand full of cheering Bearbots. The Thundercats' Cats' Lair headquarters is also in bkg. Page has been inked by Al Gordon. Top margin has production notations w/stamped title and inked issue/page number. Bottom center has publishing indica past-over. Top margin has been clipped/trimmed, though not affecting art in any way. Fine/VF overall w/Exc. art. See following items #1750-1753.
