Item Description
This 1.75" button with draped flag and photo of TR in his Rough Rider uniform typically relates to his 1898 New York governor campaign. Most typically include some text making this example unusual in two aspects. The first is that there is no text on this button. The second feature is that the back paper has a design by W&H which they did not use prior to 1900 so it is clear that this button was produced when he ran for vice-president with McKinley that year. Back paper has a little dust over the surface and the spring pin holds a somewhat dusty flag ribbon. The button itself is NM with high gloss. A rare version.
