Item Description
Lot of 12, comprising the 12 issues of this technical magazine for the amateur radio experimenter containing the complete 12-part story by Hugo Gernsback (who would later go on to found the "Amazing Stories" pulp; see bound volumes, item #1534), Gernsback founded the magazine, which began publication in April 1908. Initially intended to provide mail-order information for radio parts and to promote the amateur radio hobby, it later became a vehicle for technology-based fiction stories. The first fiction appeared in the April 1911 issue, and the series of 12 installments by Hugo Gernsback would later be published as the early science-fiction novel "Ralph 124C 41+" in 1925. The issues offered in this lot feature some stunningly accurate predictions, including cover stories about video phones, radiation therapy and space travel among other fantastic ideas. Issues have varying degrees of handling wear and aging w/white and supple pages. VG to VF. Historic publication and rarely found as a complete story set. See following lot #1532.
