6.75x8x2" deep cardboard box w/illustrated paper lid label contains complete set of three 4.75x6-1/8" hardcover illustrated storybooks w/mounted cover illustrations and original dust jackets. All were written by Alma Hudson w/illustrations by Richard Hudson and titles include - "Peter Rabbit And The Fairies, Peter Rabbit At The Circus, Peter Rabbit In Mother Goose Land." Published by Cupples & Leon Co., 1921. Books were issued w/6.25" tall hollow celluloid Peter Rabbit figure w/rattles within. Box has some corner tip/edge wear to paper covering and lid label has some lt. scattered dust soiling and trace penciling. Corners remain tight. Complete w/cardboard tray insert. Cardboard divider used within to protect celluloid figure has come loose at top/bottom. Box is Fine/VF overall. "Peter Rabbit And The Fairies" DJ shows moderate edge wear w/tears/creases and is VG/Fine while other DJs show just lt. margin wear and are VF overall. DJs have corners trimmed as issued. Books themselves have moderate aging inside front/back covers and are o/w VF/Exc. Celluloid figure is NM. Very rare and desirable set, the first we've offered in our 49 years.
