4x12.5x16" tall die-cut cardboard store display comes in original cardboard shipping box w/printing on two side panels and one top flap. Text includes "1 Only 'Disneykins' Demonstrator." 1960s. Shipping box is aged and has two corner splits w/partial third. VG. Display depicts "Disneyland Castle" and is near complete w/33 of 34 different hand-painted hard plastic figures ranging in size of .75" to 1.75" tall. Set is missing just Geppetto figure, which is easily replaced. Display contained the entire first series of Disneykins and as noted by "34 Disneykins" text on display. This is the second version of the display from 1962 and features differences that include text at upper left not including "Hand Painted" or "By Marx" text. Factory error as lower left has only partial Marx Marxie mascot image and oval does not have "Put Disneyland In Your Pocket!" text. Additionally, display does not feature price, instead price circle is left blank. Additionally blue sky bkg. is darker and red color is more day-glo in nature on this version and the bottom two rows of figures have been reversed. Front right of display has 3" corner crease and top of die-cut display has edge wear and lt. dust soiling. VF overall w/figures NM-Mint as attached. This second version display is much rarer, and this is the first example we've offered in our 49 years. Great display piece. Gary Keller Collection.
