Item Description
This is an all brass version without dark red enamel paint background. The brass surface is highly reflective but there are tiny dots of tan oxidation mostly on the pair of planet designs above his head. This shows as a little trifling brown coloration on the planets. On the standard badge, the planets never had red paint and were simply lustrous brass so this cannot be simply an example with worn paint. Reverse has small loss of luster at the center surrounding words "Awarded For Distinguished Achievement/Buck Rogers." Still a great deal of luster remains and the front has very nice bright brass finish on about 90% of the surface. Only example we've seen which somehow missed the enameling process.
