Item Description
Simulated black leather over wood large rectangular case 24" long by 10.5" wide by 2" deep with a pair of push button spring loaded locks on the front edge. Hinged lid lifts to reveal the entire interior lined in deep purple fabric. Lined up in recessed areas in the bottom of the case are eight different badges each about 8.5" long. The top of each has a gorgeous brass figural hanger with a trolley car at the top featuring a row of windows in five different color enamel accents. Below is a larger brass piece with an engraved floral design. Below this is a section of red fabric each reading identically "Hagerstown Division/No. 678, O.R.C./Hagerstown/Maryland." At the center of each ribbon in silver luster metal are a pair of clasped hands. At ribbon bottom is silver luster segment, also with floral motif and suspended below are eight silver luster metallic pieces representing various offices in the organization with the pieces comprised of spear designs, sword designs, hammers, or a key with feather. Case has small general wear, mostly confined to the corners. The interior and eight pieces which it holds are in essentially Mint condition. The most amazing group of railroad union badges we've ever seen. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
